Aura Corporation has recently introduced the new Halo luminaire, a circular surface mounted luminaire body with all the benefits of Actulite polarised daylight lighting in addition to effective side lighting achieved through the use of an opal polycarbonate peripheral diffuser. Actulite polarised lighting emits a quality of light virtually identical to that of natural daylight, achieved through the combined use of patented Actulite multi-layered light polarising panel, high frequency control gear and specially manufactured triphosphor full spectrum fluorescent tubes.

Specialist manufacturer of polarised daylight lighting systems, Aura Corporation, has just launched the Actulite Venus luminaire. The new attractive Venus luminaire uses the Actulite polarised daylight lighting system to produce a quality of light identical to natural daylight. It offers direct and indirect illumination in commercial applications and with its single 55W PL lamp provides higher lumen efficiency than a comparable 70W T5 luminaire.

Aura Corporation Ltd, the manufacturers of polarised daylight lighting, has just introduced remote dimming control systems for its luminaire range. All models are now available with a built-in radio controlled system for light level adjustment on a virtually continuous scale from zero to full illuminance with an operating distance of up to 100 metres in free air, less through walls. The systems are controlled by a battery powered wireless remote hand or wall mounted unit with indefinite battery life.

Actulite polarised daylight lighting has been specified to provide a high quality lighting scheme in the new post-mortem and mortuary facilities at Milton Keynes Hospital. Built as an extension to the hospital, the new unit required a lighting system that met health building standards whilst also improving the visual perception in surgery conditions.

As part of its Actulite polarised daylight lighting range, Aura Corporation Ltd has now created a ‘Superlife’ option, offering luminaires with a written guarantee for a minimum of 10 years or 80,000 hours maintenance-free life, including tubes. The Superlife option is available with the 18, 36 and 58 watt models in the Actulite range. Actulite polarised daylight lighting from Aura Corporation has been specified for four operating theatres and two patient wards at Barnsley Hospital. Barnsley Hospital selected Actulite as a long-lasting, energy saving and high quality lighting solution, which could also be installed into existing light fittings. Managers at the hospital looked to change the lighting as part of the upgrade of the operating theatres and selected patient wards. Commenting on the project, Rob Rennison, estates manager at Barnsley Hospital said, “We sought to replace the existing lighting to improve energy efficiency whilst at the same time reducing maintenance costs.”
